Chances are at some time in your life you are going to be fired from a job, unexpectedly outsourced or let go. Whatever you want to call it, it stinks. You feel undervalued, unappreciated and sometimes turning over a few desks on your way out may seem like a good idea. If you can restrain yourself, here are a few tips to ensure your resignation letter won’t come back to haunt you on your rise to bigger and better things.
Treat your letter of resignation as a formal piece of correspondence. It will be placed in your employee file so whatever you say is permanent and will be viewed by others. Keep it positive, check spelling and grammar use a formal salutation and never do write it in an e-mail.
