Table manners Do’s


• Place your napkin on your lap folded in half.
• Cut your food one piece at a time and eat it.
• Take small bites so you can engage in conversation easily.
• Remove objects from your mouth discreetly and place them on the edge of your plate.
• Use your cutlery course by course from the outside in.
• Use fork in left hand tines down, knife in right.
• Don’t chew with your mouth open or talk with mouth full.
• Rest your wrists on the edge of the table. No elbows on table.
• Spoon soup away from you; don’t slurp.
• Don’t reach, ask to have things passed. Pass items counter clockwise.
• Rest cutlery with tips crossed on your plate and when finished, in the 10:20 position.
