Subway etiquette
Be courteous when traveling on the subway. Allow those passengers that have been waiting the longest to enter first. Allow those passengers exiting the train to get off before you try to get on. Don’t take an extra seat with your backpack or packages. Do not subject others to the smell of your messy burger with fried onions or the crunching of your natcho’s. Offer a seat to an elderly, pregnant or disabled person. It will surprise and delight them. Say excuse me when passing in front of others. Practice good personal hygiene; shower regularly, brush your teeth and wear deodorant. Curb your phone calls and lower your voice in conversations. Don't talk or reach across people. Clean up after yourself! Dispose of trash or newspapers in the receptacles provided on the platforms. Treat staff with respect.
