Respect the environment
Having good manners means not only respecting others but respecting the environment as well. Treat any property, whether public or private, as if it was your own back yard. Put your own litter or garbage where it belongs according to the rules of recycling in your community. Avoid littering yourself, but also, as a good citizen, take the initiative to pick up trash wherever you see it. If you can, participate in community programs to clean up your neighborhood. Set a good example and encourage your children to respect the environment. Be informed on things are hazardous to the environment and begin a program to “Go Green.” The power of one can be powerful indeed
