Just because you view staplers, tape, scissors and pens as company property, you do not have the right to walk into your colleagues cubicle and help yourself. A good rule of thumb to follow is: don’t borrow from your neighbors without asking first. Then return it as quickly as possible.

If you need supplies, get them from the storeroom. Keep yourself organized and you’ll be able to keep track of what you require and what you have already.

It goes without saying that company supplies are for your use at work and not to supply your entire family. Removing items from the office for your personal use at home is stealing even though the dollar value may not be entirely significant.

Equipment in the office is for the use of many so treat is with respect and don’t take advantage by making multiple copies of your resume. If you are using the copy machine or other equipment and it jams or runs out of paper, take care of it or call for service. Don’t just leave it for the next person.
